ABOUT MAINSAILS

LEECH BATTEN MAINS

This is the least expensive option in crosscut Dacron with or without reef points depending on the size, type or Class of boat and your type of sailing you’re doing.

FULL BATTEN MAINS

Depending on sail area and roach profile there could be anything between three and seven battens.   Due to ease of handling and shape retention these sails are becoming increasingly popular.    Hoisting and lowering the main is simplified when coupled with a Lazy Jack system and made even easier when Batcars are used.   Only Bluesteak battens made by Permex Products will be supplied with your new sail (click here for the link).   If you are considering replacing your fully battened main provided the old Batcars are service able we will transfer them to the new sail.

IN MAST and IN BOOM MAINS

These sails are usually in crosscut Dacron and despite their relative inefficiency remain popular thanks some excellent hardware allowing trouble free, simple and safe sail handling.    Over the years we have supplied many in mast furling mains and continue to work closely with hardware manufactures to ensure you get the perfect sail.
